Mechanical technician
📌 Job description:
We are looking for employees for one of our clients located in Lommel, Belgium. The company specializes in the production of glass packaging for global food and beverage producers. Once you start working, there will be a paid technical training period of approximately six months, which will take place at the Lommel, Genk and Pelt locations. The aim of the training is to fully prepare new employees to work with advanced technologies and modern production standards.
⚙️ Responsibilities:
- Performing preventive, corrective and ongoing maintenance - Assembly, disassembly, renovation and adjustment of mechanical installations - Calibration monitoring and reporting - Analysis and removal of mechanical faults - Recording maintenance activities in systems and reports - Collaboration with engineers and other technicians - Participation in projects that improve and increase efficiency - Tool management and strict adherence to safety procedures
✅ Requirements:
- Experience as a mechanical technician in an industrial environment or completion of a technical school (mechanical or electromechanical) - Knowledge of English at least at a good level - Awareness of the physical nature of work - Readiness for long-term cooperation - Category B driving license
🎁 We offer:
- Starting salary, salary during the training period: €24.22 gross/hour. After completing the training: €28.00 gross/hour. (maximum salary depends on the shift system) - Commuting to work by company car: 10–35 minutes (during training), after training approx. 10 minutes - Free Budel accommodation in comfortable single rooms - Company car with fuel card - Shift allowance after training - on average 15.60% (approx. €3.50; rate with bonus: €28.00 gross/hour), depending on the type of shift (from 5% to 35%) - Food vouchers: €5/day (employee contribution €1.09), topped up monthly on the card - Annual bonus: 8.33% of the annual gross salary - after working at least 65 days or 494 hours (billing period: July 1 - June 30), paid by Sociaal Fonds - Holiday allowance: 15.38% of the gross annual salary, paid in June of the following year by the RJV - Bonus of €1,000 gross upon successful completion of the training - Health insurance according to the Belgian system (mutualiteit) – paid by the employee annually or quarterly (approx. €100-300 per year or €25-75 per quarter) - Deposit for company car: €60 (refundable) The employer provides the necessary work clothes; the employee must provide basic work clothes on his own.
